Join friends

Even though you start on the same server, there are multiple starting beaches. How do you join up with your friends?

• Scrub the character and start again.
• Approach the first Quest NPC and complete the first quest but "2. Leave" the conversation, do NOT accept a further quest. Then run across the country to your friend's beach and accept the quest from that location's NPC.
• If you have already started the quest chain then, according to sources, you're stuck until in your location until you get to the "Mysterious Old Man" quest. Note that I have gotten this quest and there is nothing that looks like opening up or directing to rehome to another town.

Make sure you join the same faction!

Twitch Drops

Watch a popular stream that has drops enabled, and after some criteria is met (example: watching them for an hour) you can get New World in-game items!
Twitch, Twitch Inventory, Drops.
You have to authorise both Twitch and Steam, and confirm collection of each drop while watching twitch before steam will acknowledge that you are eligible.
